Busy Weekend...

Last weekend was crazy!!! We had Amy's birthday party Saturday and Brett's baptism Sunday! We were a little busy, but it was such a fun weekend :)

Amy LOVES Mickey Mouse and she picked a Mickey Mouse birthday party...not Minnie, has to be Mickey :)

Luckily Aunt Meredith is very talented and found this retired Mickey pan and made the most adorable cake ever! With some help from Uncle Brandon! It turned out to be absolutely precious!

Here is my family...Oma and Opa drove from Amarillo to Corpus Christi to help with Caylee and then drove up to Houston just to spend the weekend with us...we are very blessed to have such special grandparents...thanks again guys!

Amarillo Christmas

New Year's weekend we went to Amarillo to celebrate Christmas with my extended family...We had a great time, minus the stomach bug that we all ended up with...not fun...Thankfully the kids were great on the car ride...

First Zoo Trip of 2011

Saturday was beautiful and we had to "go into town" for a birthday party, so we decided to check out the zoo first...they opened a new African exhibit and it was awesome! We were also there in time to feed the giraffes...it was awesome!

On to the giraffes...they have a platform, so they can reach you...it was so cool! Amy loved it...Brett was frozen, pretty sure he was thinking they were really big dogs :)

Of course when we finished Amy turned around and said "Yea, now we can ride the carousel"...more excited about it than the giraffes...It was Brett's first time to ride an up and down animal and he liked it okay...Amy loved both trips on the zebra she took :)

Sunday was a rainy day, so we played inside all day...she got a new doll with a sling for Christmas, so she was carrying them all in it and feeding them...it was too cute...I had to hold them all after they ate to take their naps...

Christmas 2010!

We had a very busy Christmas! It was such fun! Amy really got it this year and was so fun to watch! And of course Brett was precious and apparently loves tissue paper :)

Amy asked Santa for a big-ole bike...apparently the one he brought was not as big as she thought it should be...she said "I wanted a big-ole yellow bike"...fortunately she changed her tune and is enjoying riding her "little" purple bike! But this was her intial thought about it...

Brett trying apple pancakes...luckily he liked the first Christmas hat more than Amy did!

Meredith and Brandon's pup came with them...apparently two kids and three other dogs wore him out...he found a perfect resting spot :)

Aunt Meredith and Uncle Brandon got Amy an easy bake oven and they made a "tasty" cake! Amy says it was good, but she wouldn't share...it was "teeny-tiny" just for her :)

Overall a great Christmas...next up, Amarillo this weekend for more Christmas!

December...

We have had a very busy December, so not too much time for blogging! Here are some pictures from the first part of the month...hopefully I will get to Christmas festivities before we leave for Amarillo Thursday...

Amy loved decorating the trees this year...it took a little longer with her help, but they turned out lovely! She decorated the trees in her and Brett's rooms all alone...they are really cute :)

We also did advent this year and she got little surprises each day...she really enjoyed it! She got some bells that were a big hit! Mimi taught her to play jingle bells!

We celebrated Mimi's birthday! Daddy cooked dinner and Amy iced the cake all by herself...she did a pretty good job!

We also decorated a gingerbread house...she did not want pictures taken while decorating....but here is the finished project!

Daddy got one of his gifts early...a backpack blower! It is pretty cool and makes quick work of a long driveway! It was sitting on the porch and Amy decided to blow! Too cute :)

Of course she will have to use it like this for awhile since she only outweighs it by about 5 pounds :)
