Happy 6th Anniversary...

Matt and I celebrated our 6th anniversary last weekend...I still can't believe we have been married 6 years or are getting so old...wow...time really does fly! We decided last minute that we would go to Schlitterbahn on Saturday, Gruene Hall Saturday night, and then to Bastrop to the Lost Pines Resort on Sunday...however, the Honda had different plans...

Matt greeting the tow truck in Schulenburg...super fun to drive an hour, then get to ride a tow truck back to Katy...
Luckily Amy and Grams came to pick us up...Glad one of them is watching the road...

So, after a detour home, we cancelled Schlitterbahn and Gruene and went straight to Bastrop...in the Ford, much more reliable...(and yes, Galyn, the air conditioner still works!)
This is the coolest resort we have been to in awhile...complete with lazy river, waterfall, butterfly garden and nightly smores!
Riding my cruiser...
Matt by the Colorado River, we took a raft down it the first night, very pretty and so quiet...
The main courtyard area
Part of the pool, seriously, the pool was awesome...
Sunday was our anniversary, so we headed to the "barbeque mecca of Texas" - Lockhart...
We chose this fancy little place...it was the cheapest Anniversary dinner we have ever had and one of the best! They had lone star long necks and sweet tea...what more could you ask for?
A lovely self portrait!
A little sweet tea in the truck...a little tricky, apparently Lockhart doesn't believe in lids or repaving their two lane roads...it was interesting to say the least... Luckily we made it back in time to roast smores!!! And yes, we were the oldest people out there...but smores are great no matter how old you are!
Delicious!
Grams watched Amy while we were gone and we picked her up on our way home in Bryan...We took her to the bookstore to get some new Aggie gear since she has outgrown all of hers...cruising the MSC...
She wanted a stuffed animal until she came upon the giant foam hands...Mr. Jeremy turned her on to gloves at our office one day and it apparently continues to fascinate her!
I must say she was pretty cute cruising campus with her gigem hand :)

As for the Honda...once we got home, it was a $40 part...fabulous, luckily Matt was able to fix it himself...
Oh well, we had a fabulous anniversary!!!
